EH?

Sellout Much?

Maybe you all don't know, but I am a diehard U2 fan, going straight back to about the 'Boy' album. I've seen them in concert many times, but stopped in the late 90s when it was apparent I would have to sell one of my children to be able to afford a ticket. I just saw a little "spontaneous" (note the quotes emphasized there?) video that Bono made of The Edge for Yahoo. 20 years ago, I probably would have passed out in excitement, but now, as jaded as I am, I can only wonder...am I the ONLY person who notices that Bono no longer has an Irish accent??!?

Rock stars do not grow old gracefully. I think there should be a special place to send them after they've passed the point of musical relevancy so that we don't have to watch formerly cool people turn into plain sad people. Or they should all just die young. (kidding on both points!)

You have more than one kid, right? Sell one, go to a concert, and report back.

Also, people tend to lose their accents a bit when they've travelled a lot. My partner has only a teeny tiny bit of Canadian accent left, while her family in Canada, big whoopin' Canadian accents.

LOVE your blog (came here from HBM's basement and killed myself laughing at your candle story).
Oh - and about Bono - my husband text messaged me from a club he was at to tell me Bono was there. It was like midnight and I was home with my sleeping child. Turned out that all night he and his friends had seen this guy who was dressed just like Bono - and then it turned out he was an impersonator. Funny. I pointed out that perhaps he should have mentioned that in the text message so I didn't debate deserting our toddler (I wouldn't ever really, but Bono ...)

You know, every once in a while, some foreigner sounds American....I think they get used to practicing the non-accent (especially actors) that they slip into it easily.

Bono spit champagne on me and my friend at the Zoo Tv tour in '92. He is a tiny little guy in person but awesome artist.
