I Don't Give a Crap if it is Solchal or SOWCOW

I don't watch the Olympics...does this mean there is something wrong with me? My Partner in Crime came to me the other night, "They're showing the ice skating on TV, you want to go see it?" I think that the look I gave her can only be described as, "Incredulous." You know the look...the one eyebrow raised, the other furrowed with the gawp mouthed scrunched nose overbite look? (haha! I see you all trying the look on!) Anyway, point, please? None. I just hate the stupid Olympics. Not just the winter ones, either. My hate is enough for all sports and for all countries represented. I guess that makes me totally un-American? And to that, I say...O.F.W!! I'm tired of hearing about them, tired of reading about them, tired of the programs they pre-empt, which I don't watch, mind you, but I'd like that choice, thank you very much. I'm tired of how often they seem to occur...I thought that it was only every 4 years or something...or was that leap year? I can never seem to recall. Too F-in MUCH, I say.
My mom used to love all the sports, because my dad would watch those, and she'd get a nice nap in while it was on. Now, I get my naps in while everyone watches dumb movies like "Doom." Give me a freakin break. I got about a few minutes in and it was OBVIOUS that it was Resident Evil, but without Milla Jovovich and without the awesome laser slicing scene. It did have The Rock, but I worry...do you think his eyebrows are going to freeze in that furrowed position? Discuss amongst yourselves...

Olympics? Bah! I like it for the first two days. Then I start to get a little edgy when I realize my regular programming won't be on for two weeks. Heads start to roll. By the ending ceremonies, I am doing a happy dance.

btw, Michele sent me!

Here from Micheles. I don't watch either, the timing is off for me and I like to watch things live ( a quirk of mine lol)

The only time The Rock is tolerable is when his shirt is off and his mouth is closed.

I haven't watched the Olympics even once this year. My mom on the other hand, is totally obsessed and we are all under strict orders not to reveal the results to her until she's watched everything on her DVR. She gets really into it.

:)

I like to watch the ice skating..not the races, but the demonstrations...like ice dancing and last night the Women's competition..but I haven't a clue to what all those terms mean..or care, quite frankly...I just love the artistry of the skating and the music used, too...
But, I'm done now, PLEASE!

I'm here from Michele today, BTW!
And also, it seems a lot of people did not watch the Olympics this time round...

The only event I stayed up for was the women's figure skating. And then I fell asleep, missing Irina Slutskaya falling on her ass. My work neighbor is obsessed with figure skating, so we had a discussion the next day about the whole competition. I love watching figure skating, but the rest? Bah. Weird sports I have no interest in. And neither does the rest of the country, from what the ratings say.

Taking the world's most plotless videogame and making it a moving was clearly just stoopid. And without the Mila factor, I doubt even hordes of basement dwelling nerds will be flocking to see it.

The Ladies have embraced Olympic figure skating with a passion. Feh, I say.
